Aaron Schildhaus Examines the Impact of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) on U.S. Businesses

Aaron Schildhaus, Counsel at Scharf Banks Marmor,  authored an article entitled  “Impacting Your Company in Just a Few Months - the GDPR!"   Published in the American Bar Association Section of International Law Privacy, Cybersecurity & Digital Rights Committee Newsletter, the article discusses the risk companies need to address in light of this new regulation.

Mr. Schildhaus examines the provisions of the  EU's new law on data privacy and protection, which has extra-territorial application and effect. The GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) imposes requirements that exceed those provided for under the currently in-place EU-US Privacy Shield.   Mr. Schildhaus advises that the GDPR enters into force on May 25, 2018 and thus, US companies must get their processes and procedures in line with it immediately or risk serious consequences to their business.   To read the article, please click here
