Partner Stephanie Scharf Named One of Chicago’s Most Influential Female Lawyers
Stephanie Scharf was selected by Crain’s Chicago Business as one of Chicago’s Most Influential Female Lawyers. Crain’s highlighted Ms. Scharf for her skill as a trial lawyer and her role as a national bar leader. Stephanie represents businesses in litigation and at trial on a wide range of contract disputes, insurance coverage litigation, product liability and mass tort defense, and employment, non-competition, and fraud matters. She is especially skilled in matters that involve complex data and scientific matters. In addition to practicing law, by combining her skills as a practicing lawyer and a Ph.D. in behavioral sciences, Stephanie has developed empirical research and best practices to advance women in the law, including the NAWL Annual Survey of Advancement and Retention of Women in Law Firms and First Chairs at Trial: More Women Need Seats at the Table. In her role as incoming Chair of the American Bar Association Commission on Women, she is now initiating research on how women achieve long-term careers in the law. Stephanie is “absolutely thrilled to be recognized by Crain’s, and especially proud that Scharf Banks Marmor has become Chicago’s largest women-owned firm, certified by both WBENC and NAMWOLF-certified.” Scharf Banks Marmor was founded in 2012 by partners from national law firm and corporate practices, and is known for its quality of work and its business-centric approaches to client matters.
