Overview

Patrick represents clients in complex civil litigation, commercial disputes, products liability cases, government-related litigation, and employment matters. Patrick has substantial trial experience, representing clients through all phases of litigation. Patrick’s practice is grounded in clear written advocacy, disciplined case management, and practical litigation strategy.

Before joining Scharf Banks Marmor, Patrick served as Special Assistant Attorney General, for the State of Illinois where he represented government entities in matters across the state.

Earlier in his career, Patrick represented plaintiffs in wrongful death, medical malpractice, and multi-district litigation cases. This broad experience gives Patrick a unique understanding of how claims are developed, valued, defended, and resolved from both sides of the docket.

Patrick previously taught trial advocacy as an adjunct professor at Loyola University Chicago School of Law. Outside of the courtroom, Patrick has also been involved in legal education and community service, including teaching Chicago Public School students about the Constitution, law and government, and serving as a legal volunteer with the Lawndale Christian Legal Center.

Patrick received a B.A. from University of Iowa in 2014, summa cum laude. During his time in undergrad, Patrick was also in Phi Beta Kappa. Later, he graduated from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 2017 where he was a corboy fellow in trial advocacy, executive director of the Mock Trial Honors Board, and received the Leadership, Service, and Public Interest Recognition Award.

Patrick is a member of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Illinois. In 2018, Patrick received the Emerging lawyer award.
